Kay was born December 4, 1954 in Oakley, KS to A.M. "Mac" and Mary Teeter. She was called home on May 29, 2008 in Kit Carson County, Colorado at the age of 53. Kay was a loving mother, grandma, daughter, sister, and friend, and almost always had a smile on her face. She was a lifetime resident of northwest Kansas, and for the last fifteen years had worked in the field of social work. She was able to complete a lifelong dream when she graduated with a masters degree in social work from Newman University in Wichita, KS in May of 2008.
Kay was preceded in death by two sisters, Virginia and Sherry, and her dad Mac. She is survived by her mother, Mary Teeter of Grinnell, two sisters, Victoria Allen of Boerne, TX and Kristie Teeter of Grinnell; sons Shannon Barnett of Topeka, Shane Barnett and wife Jeannie of Shell Knob, MO, and Schad Barnett and wife Christina of Grinnell, daughter Shawndra Barnett of Colby sons Shelby Barnett of Colby, and Shaelum Barnett of Oakley, and seven grandchildren, as well as numerous relatives and friends.
Kay enjoyed spending time with family and friends, going fishing when she had a chance, and could never travel too far for a good dance.
