Bob Leo Pfeiff, age 77, of Winona, Kansas went to be with the Lord on Friday, February 13, 2015 at St. Catherine's Hospital, Garden City due to complications of pneumonia. Bob was born on December 17, 1937 in Olney Springs, Colorado. He was the eighth of ten children born to Otto Lewis and Vera Josephine (Rowland) Pfeiff.
Bob attended grade school in Fowler, Colorado, and graduated from Russell Springs High School in 1956. He worked for and lived with Ray Radnor during his time in Russell Springs. After graduating, he returned to Colorado and worked for Boone Elevator as a truck driver.
Bob married Wilma Jean Ross on December 15, 1957, at the Olney Springs Methodist Church and resided in Boone, Colorado. They moved to Denver, Colorado where Bob was employed by Gates Rubber Company. In the summer of 1960, they relocated to Winona, Kansas where Bob worked for Frank Lowe, a farmer, for 10 years. He then was employed as a propane delivery truck driver for 20 years for Bus Craik of Winona Gas Service. Bob was a Boy Scout leader. More recently Bob was employed by the Triplains Schools as the afternoon bus radio operator where he enjoyed interacting with the students and staff. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, and especially spending time with his 14 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife Wilma and cherished pet Riki of the home, son Dennis (Traci) of Delphos, KS, daughter Sandra Margheim (Mike) of Winona, KS, daughter Chris Stout of Hays, KS, son Ken (Kristie) of Sutherland, NE and daughter Brenda Pfeiff of Haslet, TX. Grandchildren: Dennis Pfeiff Jr, Girard Pfeiff, Amber Newman, Savannah Witt, Sheyenne Hansen, Mike Margheim Jr, Jon Margheim, Doug Margheim, Kelsea Zentz, Wyatt Zentz, Anthony Pfeiff, Timothy Pfeiff, Matthew Pfeiff, and Jeremiah Pfeiff; two sisters: Helen Adair of Burke, VA and Emma Wilson of Olney Springs, CO, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Bob was preceded in death by five brothers: Calvin, Claude, Otto, Dick and Dan, and two sisters: Wilmina Adair and Catherine (Kay) Repshire.
Memorial Service will be held Saturday, February 21, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Winona with Pastor Sheryl Johnson officiating. Inurnment will be in the Winona Cemetery. No visitation.
