Obituary

Dan Depperschmidt, 79, Scott City, formerly of Oakley, died January 11, 2015 at Garden Terrace Nursing Home, Overland Park.

He was born on October 31, 1935 in Grinnell to Augustine "Gus" and Catherine "Katie" (Mader) Depperschmidt. He was a farmer and U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.

Preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include son John of Springfield, MO and daughter, Missy Depperschmidt of Prairie Village; six grandchildren; brother Tom of Oakley, sisters Jeannine Call of Hays, and Wanda Depperschmidt of Scott City.

Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 16 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Oakley. Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery with military honors. Visitation: Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the church, with a rosary/wake service at 7:00 p.m.
