She was married on September 14, 1941, to the love of her life, Wilson J. Fink. Shortly after marriage they purchased their farm. There they grew mostly wheat and raised cattle. Evelyn loved being a farmer's wife and all aspects of farm life.

She considered her role in their lives a great honor; she nurtured the relationship and prayed for them faithfully.

Evelyn was very active in church, community and 4-H activities. Once all of her children were in school she also returned and completed her high school education, graduating from Monument High School in 1966. She then took a job in the Logan County Treasurer's office and worked there for 7 1/2 years. She and Wilson were very generous in sharing their home, beginning with his mother who they cared for all of her life. They also hosted five of her younger siblings during their high school years. In later years they cared for two great nephews who had lost both of their parents. Wilson was always proud to have company at their dinner table where he could show off Evelyn's remarkable cooking skills. Both were very hospitable people, they were a great team in making other feel welcome!

They enjoyed playing cards in the neighborhood pinochle club, traveling to Arizona at Christmas time to visit family and going to Colorado in the summer. Her ultimate joy was her relationship with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She lived it every day. Faith, Love, Perseverance and Hospitality make up the remarkable legacy left by Evelyn Fink!
