Frank "Sonny" Jr. Wilson, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away peacefully on July 3, 2012 at the age of 84, at the Citizen's Medical Center, Colby, Kansas.

He was born on November 21, 1927 to Frank and Cathern Elizabeth (Cox) Wilson in Thomas County, KS. On September 17, 1947, he was united in marriage to Mary Joanne Hanna. Three sons were born to this union: Rex, Rod and Cliff.

Sonny and Joanne farmed and ranched together south and east of Oakley for many years.

Sonny was a very loving grandfather. He loved the farm and his cattle, and his many dogs, the last being their schnauzer Brandi.

Sonny is survived by his sons—Rex and Cheryl Wilson, Rod and Ruth Wilson, and Cliff Wilson and Robin Boese, all of Oakley; his grandchildren: Cale and Michelle Wilson, Corey Wilson and Britt Kammer of Oakley, and Kelsey Wilson of Oakley, Dusty and Becky Wilson, and Brent Dibbern of Olympia, WA. Great grandchildren: Katelyn Wilson and Cameron Staples and Charlie Wilson. Also three sister-in-laws: Bertilla Wilson of Colby, Nina Mary Wilson of Denver, and Lois Wilson of Montclair, CA, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Joanne (in 2010), and granddaughter Robyn Wilson and grandson Cody Wilson; three brothers: Lloyd, Clyde and Clarence Wilson, and five sisters: Elva Pinkington, Pearl Wilson (infant), Goldie Wilson, Bessie "Bep", Luebke, and Vera Jeanne "Jeannie" McDonald.

Sonny was loved by his family and will be dearly missed by his family and many friends.
