Gerald Wayne Ayers, 57, of Page City, died Monday, September 15, 2003 at Hays Medical Center, Hays, Kansas.

Jerry was the fourth of nine children born to William Carson and Thelma (Rose) Ayers. He was born at Harrison, Arkansas on May 17, 1946.

He moved to western Kansas with his family in the early fifties and for the last 28 years Page City, Kansas was his home.

On June 30, 1973 he married Linda L. Thacker at Colby, Kansas.

Jerry was a farmer and bulk fuel agent for the Service Oil Co. Past occupations included elevator manager and mechanic. He was a fun-loving man who truly enjoyed doing for others. Friends and family were the center of his life.

He was preceded in death by his Dad, two brothers, Jack and Larry, and a sister, Lucille.

Survivors include his wife, Linda, of the home; sons Kevin and wife Jill of Jetmore, Brett of Page City, Derek and wife Tina of Wichita, Darrin of Oklahoma City, and daughter Tricia and husband Ward Taylor of Winona, and five grandchildren. He is also survived by his mother Thelma Jarrett of Hill City, brothers Ken of Logan, Jay of Zurich, sisters Shirley Griggs of Colby, Linda Billinger of Hope, Brenda Billinger of Great Bend, and many nieces and nephews.
