Obituary

Hannah Abigail Smith, age 19 months, of Winona, passed away, surrounded by family, on July 13, 2022 at Children's Mercy Hospital, Kansas City, Missouri, after an accidental drowning.  Hannah was born on December 6, 2020 in Winona to Samuel and Heather (Martin) Smith.

Though her time with her family was short, she touched many lives.  She stole her daddy's heart.  Hannah was loved deeply and brought so much joy to those around her.  She liked to make silly faces, and wrestle with her brothers and dad.  She loved bath time and when her mom would read her stories.  "Nanners" was a very joyful little girl, though if you did something she wasn't okay with, it was written all over her face, particularly in her eyes.  She enjoyed listening to music with her family, especially when they would sing hymns at home or in church.  Hannah had fun running around church and playing with her friends there.

Hannah is survived by her parents, Sam and Heather Smith, her brothers:  Levi, Eli, Andrew, Isaac, and Matthew Smith, all of Winona; grandparents:  Dan and Ruth Smith of Winona, Shawn and Shelly Plummer of Winona, and Kenneth and Tiffany Martin of Oakley; great grandmother, Ethel Uptegrove of Castile, New York, great grandfather, Cletus Martin of Fowler, Colorado, great grandmother, Barbara Patton, and great grandparents, David and Mary Lou Kirkendall of Farmville, Virgina.  Also surviving are many aunts and uncles, cousins, and friends.

Hannah was preceded in death by her great grandparents, John and Marie Smith, great grandmother, Nadine Martin, great grandfather, Roger Uptegrove, and great grandparents, Verlin and Norma Plummer.

Visitation:  6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, July 21, 2022 at the Brewster Community Church.

Funeral Service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 22, 2022 at the Brewster Community Church, Brewster, with Pastor Greg Woolf officiating.  Burial will follow in the Winona Cemetery after the funeral dinner in Brewster.
