Obituary

Jack Edwin Frey, the first child of Dewey and Fairel (Patterson) Frey, was born April 8, 1932 at home in the country near Selden, KS. Jack grew up on the family farm and attended school in Rexford and Oakley, KS. Jack died at the Salina Regional Health Center on April 10, 2013 at the age of 81.

After serving in the US Air Force from 1952-1954, Jack returned home to farm and ranch in Logan County. He married Shirley Paavola on January 3, 1956 in Sioux Falls, SD. To this union, three daughters were born, Rhonda, Debra and Diane.

Jack was active in the Logan County Shrine Club, Oakley VFW Post 2981, a member of the Masonic Temple and the Oakley United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include wife Shirley of the home, his daughters Rhonda (Dick) Clark of Celina, TX, Debra (Michael) Rowley of Erie, CO, and Diane (Charlie) Whittington of Melissa, TX; sister Janell (the late Hugh) Bader, Redmond, WA, brother Jon (Jean) Frey of Parker, CO. Grandchildren who survive are Lance Clark of Frisco, TX, Madison Clark of Celina, TX; Jordan Rowley of State College, PA, Grant Rowley of Erie, CO and Cole, Jace & Tate Whittington of Melissa, TX.

Funeral service: 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 15 at the Oakley United Methodist Church. Interment in the Oakley Cemetery with military honors. Visitation from 6 - 8 p.m. on Sunday at Kennedy-Koster Funeral Home. Memorials in his name to the Oakley United Methodist Church in care of Kennedy-Koster Funeral Home, P.O. Box 221, Oakley 67748.
