Joyce Janell Carlile, age 65, of Shawnee, Oklahoma, passed away on March 11, 2016 at her home. She was born December 12, 1950 in Helena, Oregon to Leighton Riley and Myrtle Oma (Gibson) Goble.
Janell graduated from Oilton High School and later from Southwestern State University with a degree in Medical Records. She married Floyd Carlile, Jr. on June 27, 1982 in Glenpool, Oklahoma. She worked for 19 years in medical records at Hillcrest Hospital, Tulsa. Janell later worked at Wal-Mart in Shawnee as a cashier, retail clerk, and the pharmacy clerk, a job she loved because she met so many people. She enjoyed sewing, antiquing, garage sales, flea markets, and she had plans to open a re-sale shop.
Janell was preceded in death by her parents, Leighton and Oma Goble.
Survivors include her daughter, Makala Carlile of Shawnee, OK, her sisters: Julie Stanford (husband A.J.) of Oklahoma City, OK., and Lois Blankinship (husband Marion) of Glencoe, OK; and her brother, Jerry Goble (wife Suzie) of Santee, CA. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at Walker Funeral Service Chapel, Shawnee, OK with Rev. Larry Sparks officiating.
Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 17th, at Monument Township Cemetery, Monument, with Pastor Bob Kelly officiating. Visitation: Thursday, March 17th, 8:00 to 10:00 a.m. at Kennedy-Koster Funeral Home, Oakley. Memorials to Monument Township Cemetery Fund may be sent to the funeral home, PO Box 221, Oakley 67748.
