Obituary

Judy Wilson, age 76 of Oakley, passed away at her home on Sunday, January 22, 2023.

Judy Louise (Swart) Wilson was born in Colby, Kansas on September 25, 1946.  The daughter of "Bill" and Alma Swart, Judy was active in the Garden Club in elementary school.  In high school, she participated in Theta Rho girls' drill team and traveled to the national meeting in Louisville, Kentucky in 1964.  She graduated from Oakley High School later that spring.

As an adult, Judy enjoyed a variety of occupations and experiences.  She helped raise her brother's four children for a number of years after her sister-in-law's early passing.  She spoke often of the positive impact that experience had on her life.  She was active in C.B. Club, worked in the County Clerk's office, and spent many years playing and working at the Oakley Country Club.  Her true passion was in serving as an EMT.  Judy served the Logan County Emergency Medical Services for 30 years (1980-2010).   In 1985, she met Bud Wilson and the two were married in February of 1986 - the two were married for 26 years until his passing in 2012.  Judy was proud to be a farmer's daughter and thankful to be able to be a part of farming and ranching her entire life.  Judy was known for her fondness of reading, crocheting, the Denver Broncos, and attempting to spoil her nieces, nephews and grandchildren.

Judy will be missed by many friends and family…
