Keith
Siruta
January 21, 1960 – June 28, 2017
Keith Siruta was born on January 21, 1960 in Colby and died June 28, 2017 at the Logan County Hospital in Oakley. Keith was diagnosed with lung cancer four months ago and was prepared to travel this journey with a fight.
Keith was a farmer-rancher at heart and worked for several area farmers. He then worked in Oklahoma for 20 years at McElroy as a Machine Technologist Supervisor for Fiber Optic Cable Splicers. When he moved back to Oakley, he was employed by his good friend, Mike Berkgren and quickly became part of the Oakley Chemical "family." He enjoyed going with his brothers and nephews to check cattle, help with harvest and drive around the fields. He also enjoyed four-wheeling, going to his mom's for Sunday dinner, spending time with his daughter & grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He also loved Nascar and coaching/yelling at the drivers on how to drive! He had such a big heart and didn't know a stranger. Keith was a member of the United Methodist Church in Winona, Kansas. His favorite Bible verse was Jeremiah 29:11~"For I know the plans I have for you" declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
Keith is survived by his mother, Bonnie Erwin Siruta of Winona, Kansas; daughter, Amanda and her husband Kyle Paulsen of Kiefer, Oklahoma; brothers: Ron (Dee) of Oakley, Kansas, Kent (Melissa) of Johnson, Kansas; Dan (Debbie) of Goodland, Kansas; Duskin (Missy) of Colby, Kansas; Rod of Arapahoe, Colorado; Jason (Alicia) of Colby, Kansas; Jamie of Ness City, Kansas; sisters: Susan (Doug) Holzmeister of Colby, Kansas; and Karen Doze of Syracuse, Kansas; grandchildren: Brice and Tyler Melton, Kambree and Kaidence Paulsen all of Kiefer, Oklahoma; nephews: Drew Siruta, Kraig Siruta, Brandon Siruta, Johnny Siruta, Brady Holzmeister, Brett Doze, Cody Doze, and Jadon Siruta; nieces: Kylie Austin, Loree Reinert, Courtney Parsons, Lacie Siruta, Ashley Mosier, Callie Siruta, and Shaylee Holzmeister; his special friend, Anita Gabel of Oakley, Kansas and her children: Kyle, Kody, Kameron and Audrey.
Keith was preceded in death by his father, Don Siruta; brothers: Johnny Siruta and Troy Siruta; nephew Tate Siruta; his grandparents: Pete and Susie Siruta and Doyle and Frances Erwin.
Keith was loved by many, will be missed by many and will be remembered by many!
