Larry "Mack" Wilkins, age 72, of Leoti, went to meet his heavenly father on January 5, 2018 at Fort Dodge Soldiers Home in Ford Dodge, Kansas, after a hard fought battle with cancer.

He was born on July 5, 1945 to Myrl and Velma (Gibson) Wilkins in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He attended school in New Deal, Texas, and graduated from high school in Grainfield, KS.  During his life, he lived in Grainfield, KS, Deerfield, KS, Garden City, KS and Dodge City, KS. Larry proudly served in the United States Army for over 20 years, including 3 tours in Vietnam.  He was also stationed at Fort Bliss, TX, Germany, and many other places.

Larry leaves behind his wife of 49 years, Kathleen Marie (Geist) Wilkins; his daughters: Chanelle (Wilkins) Martin and husband Matt of Leoti, KS, Misty (Wilkins) Hands and husband Chad of Dodge City, KS; a sister, Wanda Kimbrell of Lubbock, TX; a brother, Solon Wilkins of Lubbock, TX; 6 grandchildren: Hannah, Sarah, Micah and Avah Martin, and Coltin and Rileigh Hands; and many family and friends.  He loved the Lord and his family more than anything.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Meryl and Velma, an infant son, Mickey Ray, a brother, Clifton, and an infant sister, Lois.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, January 20 ^th , 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Christ Covenant Church in Leoti, KS.  Inurnment will be at the Grainfield Cemetery in Grainfield, KS.  There will be no visitation or calling time.
