Margaret Marie "Peggy" Arnberger, age 74, died May 5, 2010 at the Logan County Manor in Oakley. She was born October 29, 1935 in Logan County, Kansas to Marjorie P. (Latham) and William Thomas "Bill" Empson.
She grew up in rural Logan County, attending school in Russell Springs. She married Carl John "Bud" Arnberger on Dec. 27, 1951 at Sharon Springs. They shared 54 years of marriage. To this union, five children were born: Carl, Leona, Beverly, Pat, and Annette.
Peggy was a waitress and cashier at Mitten Truck Stop, and was a semi truck driver along with her husband Bud. As an avid reader, westerns were her favorite story line. She was a great cook and known for her cinnamon rolls. Whenever asked for her recipe you always got the same answer, "I don't have one, I just dump and pour."
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents: Bill and Marjorie Empson, husband Carl "Bud" Arnberger (2004), daughter Beverly Verhoeff (1989).
Survivors include son Carl "Tince" Arnberger of Oakley, daughters Leona Repshire (Glenn) and Pat Schippers (Tim) of Oakley, and Annette Packard (Brian) of Gove, 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, brothers Charles Empson, Robert Empson, Thomas Empson, Glen Empson, and Richard Empson; and sisters Wilene Norris and Barbara Empson.
Peggy was dearly loved and will be missed by all of her family and friends.
