Obituary

Rose Prewo, age 92, passed away peacefully on October 30, 2012 at the Sheridan County Health Complex in Hoxie. The daughter of Boniface and Anna (Brungardt) Prewo, Rose was born on August 29, 1920 in Victoria. The family moved to Grainfield in 1921. Rose never married and was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church. She was a homemaker and caregiver to family members.

Rose enjoyed being on the farm located north of Grainfield and spending time with her family. Rose truly enjoyed the company of her nieces and nephews and could always be counted on to play whatever stupid or silly game they could come up with. Numerous evenings were spent enjoying "our singing renditions" from the Lawrence Welk TV show. She enjoyed the fun times of eating out and turkey drumsticks were a delicacy to Rose.

Rose was preceded in death by her parents, Boniface and Anna, her brothers Albert Prewo, Acquiline Prewo, and Ben Prewo, her sister Eleanor (Ellie) Prewo, and four infant brothers: Edward, Joseph, Peter, and Robert Prewo.

She is survived by two sisters, Anna Selenke of Oakley and Mary Stroda of Abilene and many nieces and nephews.

The mass of Christian burial was held at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Grainfield with burial in the Grainfield Cemetery.

The nieces and nephews of Rose would like to thank all those who have helped her when she lived in Grainfield and Hoxie.
