Obituary

Sadie Clara Mastin, age 101, passed away on April 14, 2012 at the Logan County Manor, Oakley. She was born to Andy and Katie (Miller) Russell on October 22, 1910. She had four brothers: George, Charley, Fred, and Clyde Russell, and three sisters: Christina Russell, Blanche Stewart and Lila Hudson.

Sadie married Jake Schaffer in 1926 and Twilla, their only child, was born in 1927. They divorced in 1948. Sadie met Leland Mastin and they married in 1956. They lived on a farm near Edmond, Kansas. Leland passed away in 1965.

Sadie moved into the town of Edmond and started Sadie's Café. This was where she met Bill Heitz who worked at the local Co-op. Sadie owned and operated the café for many years. They both retired and made their home in Oakley.

Sadie was preceded in death by Jake and Leland, daughter Twilla Heinrich (2005) and her husband Frank (2009) and grandsons Ronald Summers and Leroy Heinrich. She is survived by grandchildren Cheryl (Rory) Lee, Oakley, Donald Heinrich, Oakley, Darell Heinrich, Oakley, and many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
