Steven Lynn Morris

Steven L. Morris, 76, passed away on August 7, 2026, at Citizens Medical Center in Colby.  He was born September 8, 1949 in Liberal, Kansas to Waldo and Lucille (Griggs) and graduated from Wauconda High School in Illinois.

Steve was a U.S. Air Force Veteran.  He proudly served in the United States Air Force as a jet engine mechanic/technician with the 305th Field Maintenance Squadron, SAC.  Following his military service, he spent the majority of his career as a truck driver.

Steven enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his children, Shanon Morris of Fort Calhoun, Nebraska; Michelle Morris of Colby, Kansas; and Brent Morris of Garden City, Kansas.  He is also survived by his brother, Rick Morris of Waconda, Illinois; his grandchildren, Brendon Morris, Reid Ryan, Leo Morris, and Ashlynn Morris; and one grandson on the way.

Cremation was chosen.  No services are planned.  Private inurnment will take place at a later date in the Beulah Cemetery, Colby.  Memorials to the Steve Morris Memorial Fund may be sent in care of Kennedy-Koster Funeral Home, P.O. Box 221, Oakley, KS 67748.
