Terrence Robert Baalman, age 76, of Grinnell, Kansas passed away on October 21, 2012 at St. Anthony's Hospital in Lakewood, Colorado. Terry was born on September 18, 1936 at St. Francis Hospital in Wichita, Kansas. He was adopted by Ben and Frances Baalman in June of 1939. He attended school in Angelus, Kansas where he graduated from the 8th grade. He joined the U.S. Army in November of 1954 and served in Germany until January of 1956 when he was discharged to come home and take care of the family farm.

Terry married Angeline "Angie" Robben on August 4, 1958 in Angelus. They lived on a farm two miles north of Grinnell until they retired and moved into Grinnell in June of 2000.

Terry was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church and Wheatland V.F.W. Post 2864 of Grinnell. He served on the S&T Telephone Board for 38 years and also served on the Tri-County Credit Union Board. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, playing cards with friends, and watching his grandchildren's sporting events.

Terry was extremely loving and proud of his two daughters, two son-in-laws, and two grandchildren. Survivors include his wife Angie of Grinnell; daughter Mercedes Shoemaker and her husband Todd Shoemaker of Derby, daughter Maureen Bryand and her husband Renay Bryand of Wichita; grandchildren Bailey Bryand and Morgan Bryand of Wichita, and his sister Kathleen Zerr and her husband Vince of Grinnell.

Terry was a "one of a kind guy" who will be dearly missed by many of his friends and family. Special thanks goes out to everyone for all the cards, calls and prayers while Terry was in the hospital. Your love and kindness will always be remembered.
