Viola Marie "Vi" Lindeman, 90, died April 2, 2014 at the Logan County Manor, Oakley.
She was born July 30, 1923 in Sheridan County to Thomas and Julia (Mumm) Knopp. She married Oliver Lindeman on February 11, 1947 in Selden.
Vi helped Oliver on the farm, often found outside in long sleeves and a hat, despite the heat, with her orange wheelbarrow working in the garden, collecting chicken eggs, mowing the lawn, and many other farm chores. She enjoyed spending time with the grandkids: demonstrating her work ethic, playing her favorite games, feeding them until they could eat no more - all the while, instilling in them her deep faith. She would always stop whatever she was doing to play a good game of jacks, old maid, or checkers with any of her grandkids.
She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Oakley, and past member of St. Paul's Church, Angelus. She was a member of D of I for over 50 yers, and held most offices over the years; a mdmber of St. Paul's Altar Society, Al Anon, Menlo Hobby Club, and loved quilting.
She was preceded in death by husband Oliver (2001), parents, brothers Vincent and Clarence Knopp, sister Louise Schumacher, son Charles, infant daughter Vivian, and son-in-law Tom Ryan.
